As one of America’s leading proponents of new music, Maria Bachmann has received critical acclaim for her performances and recordings of new works by such legendary composers as Philip Glass, John Corigliano, William Bolcom, Lou Harrison, Leon Kirchner, George Rochberg, Arvo Part, Paul Chihara and Alfred Schnittke as well as young composers such as Paul Moravec, Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), Derek Bermel, James MacMillan, Sebastian Currier, Paul Dresher, Robert Beaser and others.
