Maria started composing at the age of 11. While a student at the Curtis Institute of Music, she was awarded a scholarship by The Tuesday Musical Club to study composition as a private student of George Rochberg. In recent years, she has made numerous arrangements of works for Trio Solisti, and for the Trio with guest artists.
